Services

Website upgrade and maintenance

Website upgrade & maintenance

Running an ageing Drupal, WordPress, Shopify, or other kind of website? I offer upgrades, migrations, and ongoing monthly maintenance agreements to keep your site secure, up to date, always-online, and fast. This includes content and product management.

Website upgrade and maintenance

Website & web application development

Whether you need a content-managed website or a complex web application, I build robust, well-architected solutions using Drupal. Every project is built to last — clean code, proper testing, and documentation included as standard. From small business sites to enterprise platforms.

Mobile and desktop application development

Mobile & desktop application development

Cross-platform apps for iOS, Android, and desktop. One codebase, all platforms, without compromise on quality or performance. Ideal for businesses that need a dedicated app to complement their web presence or streamline internal operations.

Third-party and systems integration

Third-party and systems integration

Most businesses run multiple software products that don't talk to each other — CRMs, accounting platforms, inventory systems, payment gateways, and more. I design and build reliable integrations that automate the gaps between your systems and eliminate manual data entry.

Domains, email & hosting

Domains, email & hosting

Get your business online properly, without the technical headaches. I can register your domain, set up professional email at your own address (you@yourbusiness.com.au), and arrange reliable hosting suited to your site and budget. If you've already got these set up but something isn't working right — email going to spam, DNS issues, slow hosting — I can sort that out too.

Website & CMS training

Content management training

Learn to manage and update your own website with confidence. Whether for your new or existing Drupal site, I can train you and your team to handle day-to-day content updates yourselves — adding pages, publishing posts, managing products, updating images — so you're not waiting on a developer for routine changes. Sessions are tailored to your business and skill level, delivered one-on-one at your pace, in person on the Gold Coast or online.

Report

Website Health Check

Every website audit I carry out covers the following areas. For new clients, this report is complimentary — no obligation to proceed further.

Technology versions

Outdated software is the single biggest risk facing most websites. I check your CMS, plugins, themes, and server software are current and supported.

Security

I review your site for common vulnerabilities, including SQL injection, cross-site scripting, and insecure configurations. I check for exposed sensitive data, signs of compromise, and any outdated software introducing known risks. For sites with login functionality, I also review password policies, session management, and access controls.

Privacy & compliance

I check your site's compliance with the Australian Privacy Act and, where relevant, GDPR — including cookie consent, data collection practices, and privacy policy adequacy.

SEO

I review your site structure, metadata, page titles, headings, internal linking, XML sitemap, and indexability to identify opportunities for better search engine visibility.

Accessibility

I assess your site against WCAG guidelines to identify barriers for users with disabilities — an increasingly important legal and ethical consideration.

Performance

I measure page load times, identify bottlenecks, and review caching, image optimisation, and asset delivery. Fast sites rank better and convert better.

Cross-browser & mobile compatibility

I test your site across major browsers and screen sizes to identify layout issues, broken features, and anything that degrades the mobile experience.

URL normalisation

A well-configured site uses one canonical address — typically https://example.com.au — and automatically redirects all other variants (http://, www., combinations) to it. This concentrates SEO authority on a single URL, ensures every visitor lands on the encrypted version, and keeps analytics clean. I check that all four common variants redirect correctly with a single 301 redirect.

Broken links

I scan your homepage and key pages for broken links and missing pages — the kind of small issues that erode trust and frustrate visitors. These are usually quick to fix once identified.

Third-party tools

I identify the third-party services your site uses — analytics, marketing, payment, social — and flag any that are outdated, redundant, or affecting performance. A clear inventory is the first step to a leaner, faster site.

Meta tags & social sharing

I check your site's meta tags are correctly configured, including title tags, meta descriptions, and Open Graph tags that control how your pages appear when shared on social media. Missing or poorly configured tags can undermine your search visibility and make your site seem less professional when shared on Facebook, LinkedIn, or other platforms.

About

Senior developer, Gold Coast

I was born to code, starting when I was 8 years of age, writing BASIC programs on the earliest personal computers. Now I have over 30 years of commercial web and software development experience. Born in Melbourne, raised on the Sunshine Coast, I've lived and worked as a professional web and software developer and solutions architect in cities across Australia and Europe before settling on the Gold Coast.

I've been specialising in web development since 1999, working across the full stack: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Drupal, WordPress, C#, ASP.NET, and many other technologies. I've worked with numerous databases (especially MySQL/MariaDB and SQL Server) and cloud platforms, including AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure. I've integrated a wide variety of third-party software programs with web applications and with each other. Whether you need a content-managed website; custom web, mobile, or desktop application; or API, I've built it before. Complex system integrations are a particular strength. My clients have included businesses large and small, government departments, and universities, across industries spanning health, education, travel, construction, real estate, and more.

I take on a limited number of clients at a time so I can give each one proper attention. If you need something built well and on time, let's talk.
